Funding support for the retail sector - Area East

Grants of up to £1500 are available to new and existing businesses for shop front improvements.

Please note, this grant is only available to businesses in SSDC Area East (Click here to see list of parishes within Area East).

Growth Acceleration & Investment Network (GAIN) Growth Fund +

Gain Growth Fund is now launched and is offering grants of between £25,000 to £1million to companies which can demonstrate growth plans and job creation.

The funding will be made available to businesses in Cornwall, Somerset and Devon. The funds can be used to pay for a range of things from purchasing capital equipment, specialist software, and improving businesses premises, to recruiting skilled employees.

Expressions of interest are now being asked for.

 


Rural Development Programme

The Rural Development Programme for England is a seven year programme which aims to support and promote sustainable farming, forestry, and food sectors, and also bring wider benefits for the rural economy, the environment and communities.

Somerset Young Entrepreneurs Fund

 

This pilot scheme is offering loans of up to £4,000 to young people (18 to 30 year olds) who have a good business idea but have been declined a loan from commercial lenders due to insufficient guarantees.

Somerset County Council, the Prince's Trust and the Wessex Reinvestment Trust developed the scheme.
