Application evaluation process
|
|
Each Licence lasts for 5 years and costs £300 for a basic 5 room
HMO, with an extra £30 charge for each additional room (e.g.
£390.00 for an 8 room HMO). Discounts apply if you are an
accredited landlord (20%) or are well-trained in HMO
management (10%)
If an application fails or is withdrawn by the applicant
the fee will be refunded in full.
Please allow 28 days for a full and valid application to be
processed.
Licences will be granted if:
- the house is or can be made suitable for multiple
occupation
- the applicant is a fit and proper person and the most
appropriate person to hold the licence
- the proposed manager has control of the house, and is a fit and
proper person to be the manager
- the management arrangements are satisfactory
- all the necessary paperwork is provided
- the appropriate fee is paid
