Hypnotism in accordance with the
Hypnotism Act 1952 (as amended) is defined as mesmerism or any
similar act or process which produces or is intended to produce in
any other person any form of induced sleep or trance in which the
susceptibility of the mind of that person to suggestion or
direction is increased or intended to be increased, but does not
include hynotism, mesmerism or any such similar act or process
which is self induced.

Application evaluation process
|
|
Applications must be sent to the licensing authority for the
area where the premises are located. There is no fee for this
licence outside of the London Borough Council.
|
|
|
Will Tacit Consent apply?
|
|
Yes. This means that you will be able to act as though your
application is granted if you have not heard from the local
authority by the end of the target completion period, which is
subject to the submission of all information required. The
timescale is 28 days after receipt of a valid application.
If you are submitting this application by post tacit consent
will only apply when the business can show proof of delivery from
the Post Office or recognised courier.
Timescales for processing an application do not start until all
the necessary information has been received in full.

Appeals
|
|
There is no statutory right of appeal
for a refused application, the only method of redress would be by
Judicial Review in the High Court.

We would always advise that in the
event of a complaint the first contact is made with the trader by
you - preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If
that has not worked, if you are located in the UK contact Consumer
