Area Development teams
The Area Development Service
works closely with local communities to help make South
Somerset a good place to live, work and visit. We work in
four locally based teams -
North, East, South and West.
We offer an enquiries service to anyone seeking guidance on ways
to start up or develop a local service or activity. This might be
to improve local community life, help provide better employment
opportunties for local people or to enhance or protect the local
environment.
This could include finding help with project
planning, consultation and engagement, funding, access to SSDC
community grants, or practical help like hire of meetings rooms,
equipment loans or printing.
We can also help you identify steps you can take to resolve
issues or local concerns from your neighbourhood or community, and
we can provide you with contact details for other services working
in your area who may be able to help.
People using our service include community groups, local town
and parish councillors, individuals and businesses.
