The courses were FREE of charge to all local residents and
included education and life skills training needed and highlighted
from local people in a training survey. These courses included:
- IT for beginners
- Internet Access and internet safety
- 3 x Basic first aid courses (with over 45 people
attending)
- First aid for babies and toddlers (Mother & father training
sessions)
- Food hygiene qualifications (Level 2)
- Get set grow (Growing course)
- Get set cook (Cooking course)
The programme was a great success and has now linked with
another Health inequalities programme 'the Milford training room'
which has seen IT equipment given to the community association to
run IT training courses, internet cafes and other IT support needs
for the local community thanks to grant support from South Somerset
District Council (Area South) Committee.
Although the funding has run out, we are always looking for
community training needs so if further funding was secured we could
address the needs of our local communities. If you have any ideas
of further training courses you feel is needed within the local
community please contact:
