Newton Road and Coldharbour Lane

A 'Strategy for the Regeneration of the Eastern End of Yeovil Town Centre 2002 - 2005' contains a number of public concerns and aspirations for the bottom end of the town centre.

Newton Road and Coldharbour Lane was highlighted as an area in need of regeneration, the area was in a poor state of disrepair with anti social activity taking place on a regular basis.

A building known as 'the old tattoo parlour' was situated to the rear of Newton Road car park, it was in a derelict state and was central to the anti social activity. South Somerset District Council have demolished the building, created a commercial bin storage area and resurfaced the lane area.

This work has much improved the area, it is lighter and cleaner and easier to maintain. The Businesses and residents are very pleased with the outcome and feel safer as a result.
