The group will be looking
at street furniture, including benches, litter bins, cycle racks,
bollards, footpaths, signage, floral displays and street lighting
columns. The work also includes the general presentation and
cleanliness of
the town.
A list has
been drafted outlining what work is required and this will be
carried out over the coming
year.
The project
also includes mapping of officers/organisations involved in
maintaining the streets in Yeovil,
agreeing clear lines of
communication and how to make budgets work better by
pooling resources, identifying preferred styles
of street furniture for the town centre and creating a
data base for all street furniture.
A number of members were recently
elected to sit on the project group at Septembers Area South
Committee.
This group will not replace the usual channels
for reporting defects or making general complaints about Highways
or street cleaning issues, however if you would like to contact the
