SSDC provides grants support for voluntary, community and charitable organisations in South Somerset which aim to make South Somerset a better place to live and work. Making a difference is not always about the money - these pages include other ways SSDC can help, contacts for other organisations here to help you and your community, and ways you can help yourself.

SSDC Community Grants

We believe in supporting innovative communities who seek help to help themselves. Our successful community grants programme can support voluntary and charitable organisations, not-for-profit groups, parish or town councils and other organisations who benefit the wider community.

SSDC Community Loans

In some circumstances, we may be able to offer a loan to a community group to assist with a project.

Volunteer to make a difference in your community

Making a difference to your local area often starts with a simple first step. We encourage and support local communities to identify priorities, issues and solutions relating to your local area, and there are a number of ways that you can help and get involved.
