Safer Food, Better Business is a food safety management system
developed with and for small food businesses by the Food Standards Agency. Over 400
businesses in South Somerset already use it. Many of these
businesses have found the system an easy but highly relevant way of
keeping on top of food safety, without excessive paperwork.
Our inspectors have also found that businesses using this approach
achieve higher standards of hygiene.
The system is available free of charge from the Food Standards Agency. It consists of a
folder with lots of information on safe methods to use, plus a
daily diary for your records. Diary updates are also
available free from the Food Standards Agency.
