Council Tax Reduction Scheme
The Council Tax Reduction scheme is a Council Tax discount and
not a Social Security Benefit. The Government asked councils to
design a local scheme for their working age residents. This has
meant that we have had to produce a full policy, which sets out
how the scheme works.
We recognise that the full policy document is quite complicated
and we will shortly publish a simpler version of the Reduction
Scheme.
Draft Scheme
As part of the consultation process we published a draft scheme. This sets
out the proposed Council Tax Reduction Scheme design that we
consulted on. You can use this to compare what was proposed and
what the final scheme design looks like.
