We can carry out welfare benefit checks to see if there is any
additional help you may be unaware you are entitled to, provide
assistance in completing forms and give advice and guidance on what
to do if you think your decision is wrong.
During an appointment, an adviser will discuss with you various
types of benefits in relation to your personal circumstances. We
will then assess whether or not you are receiving the benefits to
which you are entitled and help you to apply for any you are not
yet receiving.
We may also be able to inform you of other schemes such as insulation grants,
community or hospital transport, Furnicare and the Handyman
scheme.
The Welfare Benefits team are based our council
offices in Petters Way, Yeovil, and at the following
surgeries:
Crewkerne Town Hall - all day every
Wednesday
Wincanton Council Offices
We would recommend that appointments are made in advance
although if we are more than happy to see you if we are available.
Where appropriate, we can also arrange to visit clients in their
homes.
