For every pound in weight lost by each signed up community
member, £1 will be given back to the community to spend on
healthy lifestyle initiatives, activities or facilities.
The project is being led by South Somerset District
Council in partnership with the Milford Community
Association.

Q) Who can sign up to the project?
A) Anyone who meets the following criteria:
- Has a BMI of 25 or over
- Lives in Yeovil
- Is not pregnant
- Is aged 16 or over
Q) How do I sign up?
A) Email active@southsomerset.gov.uk
for an application form or telephone 01935 462462 and ask for
Charlie Coward in the Healthy Lifestyles Team. The team will then
send you an application form to complete.
Q) Do I have to sign up before a certain
date?
A) No, you can sign up to the project at anytime from 8 October
2011 until 14 April 2012
Q) If I don't live in Milford can I sign
up?
A) Yes, if you live in Yeovil you can sign up to be part of
community £s however you must be aware that all money earned
through weight lost will be spent on healthy lifestyle initiatives
in Milford.
Q) How long is the project?
A) The project will run for 24 weeks from 31 October 2011 and
will end on 14April 2012
Q) How will my weight loss be monitored?
A) There will be 'big weigh ins' at the end of every six week
period as well as drop in sessions every week at Milford Hall with
a health trainer or healthy lifestyles officer. These sessions will
offer the opportunity for support, advice, informal weigh in
and to sign up to the project
Q) When will the final weight loss be
recorded?
A) Weight loss will be recorded officially at each 6 week 'big
weigh in'. Final weight loss will be recorded on Saturday 14 April
2012 at the final 'big weigh in party'

project?
A) You can contact either Milford Community Association on (name

Q) Who decides what activities are run, when they take
place and where?
A) You do! This project is community owned and led with support
from the Healthy Lifestyles and Health Inequalities Team at SSDC
