 Find out what's on at the Museum of South Somerset and the Community Heritage Access Centre at Lufton.  On this page you will find information about visiting the Museum of South Somerset, Hendford, Yeovil.  A good place to find out about the history in your local area is to visit your local Community Museum.  The Heritage Team are actively collecting local history material and information. We also provide an identification and enquiry service.  South Somerset District Council hold a stock of books on the local history of South Somerset. The list of books is below and if you wish to purchase a publication, please use the contact details on the right of this page. When e-mailing to request a book, please let us know the title of the book and how many copies you require. There is no charge for postage.  The Heritage Team provide a wide range of historical activities and resources for schools and local groups. We also identify finds and provide an enquiry service on local history. Please note however, that we cannot provide valuations.  The Museum Service is always looking for volunteers to help care for its collections and assist in dealing with the public.
