The Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 2010 are now in force, and the calculator will automatically work out the correct amount for the type of work proposed.   The scheme is based on four tables covering new houses, domestic extensions and alterations, non-domestic alterations and extensions, and for projects based on the cost of work  (both domestic and non-domestic) where there is a ceiling of £75,000 beyond which the Building Control Unit will have to be contacted.

For more than 30 dwellings or if the floor area of any dwelling exceeds 300m² the charge is determined individually, please contact the Building Control Manager for advice on the appropriate fee. Discounts are available where repetitive house types are employed.
