Main Functions

The main functions and responsibilities of the Team are:

- The South Somerset Local Development Framework (LDF) including the Core Strategy;

- The Local Development Framework Evidence Base;

- The South Somerset Local Plan;

- Implementation of planning policies and proposals;

- Monitoring of housing and employment land availability;

- Providing guidance and advice on planning policy;

- Contributing to strategic planning as it relates to South Somerset District; and

- Contributing to transport planning and policy.

- Providing advice on Community Led Plans (Parish Plans and Village Design Statements) and their Integration with the Planning System
