We aim to

  • Process new benefit claims on average in less than 30 days
  • Process changes in your circumstances on average in less than 10 days
  • Reply to all requests for a statement of reasons within 7 days
  • Refer all benefit appeals to The Appeals Service within 30 days
  • Send you a council tax bill within 21 days of you telling us you have moved address
  • Refund overpaid council tax within 7 days of your request
  • Send you a Business Rate bill within 21 days of you telling us you are responsible for a property
  • Decide Business Rate relief applications within 30 days
  • Acknowledge your letters and e-mails within 1 week
  • Reply to complaints within 3 working days or if a full reply cannot be done that quickly, acknowledge receipt of your complaint and send a full reply within 7 days of receipt.
