Signage grant scheme for businesses in Area North

Area North has a distinctive environment with its characteristic Levels and Moors landscape, its historic buildings and many interesting and unusual attractions, enjoyed by local visitors and by those from further afield. It also attracts commercial and business visits from customers and suppliers of local produce, manufacturing and services, some of whom will combine an element of tourism with their more specific purpose.

SSDC recognises  the economic benefit that this brings to the area and aims to support businesses, attractions, local groups and parish councils in encouraging visitors, improving their experience while they are here, extending stay and spend and encouraging repeat visits. We want to ensure that all visitors to our area have a good first impression of our towns and villages and that they find their destinations easily and safely through well designed and well placed signage. To this end we will be offering a package of financial support and advice to encourage the manufacture and installation of new signs in key locations in this part of South Somerset.
