Suggest a topic for investigating

Scrutiny represents the voice of the community. The Scrutiny Committee welcomes suggestions for topics that you would like investigated.

Scrutiny enables councillors who are not members of the Executive (decision makers group) to review and make recommendations for the policies and services that serve South Somerset to ensure the voice and concerns of the community are heard and addressed.

The Scrutiny Committee identifies issues from various sources to go forward on to its annual Work Programme and welcomes suggestions for topics from members of the public.

The Work Programme is drawn up in consultation with all elected members, Management Board, Joint Area Committees and the wider community of South Somerset to ensure it accurately reflects the corporate and community priorities.

The Scrutiny Committee discuss the Work Programme at every meeting and use the Selection Criteria Document to choose and prioritise items. You are welcome to attend the Scrutiny Committee meeting.
