Housing Options Staff

There are a number of different staff within the Housing Advice Centre who will be able to assist you.
HAC Staff

Staff at the Housing Advice Centre:

Housing Advisors: Will be your first point of contact for any enquiry. Our Advisors have a broad range of knowledge covering all aspects of the service we provide.

Whether you are presenting as homeless or have a query regarding the Housing Register, the Housing Advisor will assess what your needs are and what advice and assistance you require. Once they have assessed your housing need they will be able to advise you on what steps to take next.  If we can't help you there and then, we'll refer you to someone who can. This might be another member of staff at the Advice Centre, or someone from another organisation, agency or Council department.

Housing Advisors will also deal with your Homefinder Somerset application. When you make an application the Advisor will 'band' your application and also deal with any change of circumstance to your application. They will also be able to advise you on how to use and access the Homefinder Somerset system.

Housing Officers: If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness and you are eligible for help then we will offer you an appointment with a Housing Officer. Our priority will be to keep you in your current accommodation. If this is not possible they will be able to advise you of what options are available.

Temporary Accommodation Officer: Will help find access temporary accommodation if it's required.  We will always take into consideration where you would like to be placed. However, due to the limited number of temporary places this could be anywhere in the district and only in establishments approved by this Council.  We will only place you in bed and breakfast if it is an emergency.
