 Location: Based out of our depot in Lufton, Yeovil but travel throughout South Somerset

 What we’re looking for…

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person to join our team as a Case Assistant in our Car Parking team. In other organisations, this role might be known as a Civil Enforcement Officer or a Car Parking Officer. If you like being outdoors and getting out and about, then this role could be excellent for you.

This role will manage and enforce parking regulations and restrictions across the South Somerset district. Working from our depot in Yeovil, you will be the public face of the Council, tackling and resolving a variety of parking issues in a fair and consistent way. You will help customers and members of the public with parking related queries and complaints.

You will be checking that vehicles are parked correctly in our car parks and where necessary, issuing a Penalty Charge Notice (parking tickets). You will also check the condition of parking machines and signs during your patrol, reporting any issues to your Team Leader.

This role will be working in all weathers in and around town centres locations, sometimes driving a council van to other locations.

You will be able to plan your own day and ensure parking regulations are being followed. You need to be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a calm approach when dealing with the members of the public, a uniform is provided for working in all weathers, and you will also be provided with Personal Protective Equipment.

This job is subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level. A full clean driving licence is essential.

The working hours are 37 hours per week, rotating on a two weekly basis, 7.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday and then 7.30am -   4.00pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
