We have an exciting opportunity for a Case Officer - Bereavement to join us. Job Title: Case Officer – Bereavement                    

Salary: Grade 3 £20,444 - £22,571 (pro rata)                    

Hours: 28 hours per week (rota basis)

Fixed term/secondment for 12 months to cover maternity leave

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bereavement Case Officer to work within our South Somerset District Bereavement Services. You will work within a small highly motivated team and be able to work on your own initiative with excellent verbal and written communication skills, to provide a comprehensive and compassionate service for bereaved family members or representatives.

The successful candidate will receive training in all aspects of the role, enabling them to achieve their cremator license and certification in First Aid, Health and Safety, Data protection and Manual Handling. Training and ongoing support will be provided in the delivery of services within the Chapel.

In addition to your role as a Cremator Operator and Chapel Assistant, you will receive training on the use of horticulture equipment to maintain the grounds of the Crematorium. Previous experience is not essential, although the successful applicant should be able to display a desire for learning and personal development to meet the expectations of the role.  

A member of a small team, with experience of using IT systems and processes such as Outlook and Microsoft Word, and an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
