Come and join our Environmental Services team based out of our Lufton depot in Yeovil, but operating across South Somerset to provide a range of services to the Council and external customers including horticulture, street cleaning, fleet management, MOT facilities and managing and maintaining open spaces owned by the Council and its customers.
We are looking for a Case Officer – Horticulture to work as part of our Support team based out of our depot in Lufton, Yeovil. This is an administrative role supporting our Horticulture team and the wider Environmental Services service area.
Our ‘Support’ team is a crucial part of the day to day running of Environmental Services. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy team providing support to all aspects of the service but in particular the Horticulture Specialist and Open Spaces Specialist. This will include, but not be limited to supporting the delivery of future developments and improvement projects, nature conservation, securing new open spaces, formal parks, green corridors, closed churchyards, woodland and informal open spaces from large to smaller developments.
We are looking for someone with administration experience including a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Word, Outlook, One Note etc) and experience of ensuring the delivery of high levels of customer service. You would also ideally have experience of working with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) on a variety of different matters. An interest in Horticulture would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be given.
