We are now recruiting for a Monitoring Officer/Lead Specialist - Legal. As well as being our most senior Legal Officer, this role leads on the governance and standards within the Council. We are therefore seeking a qualified solicitor with significant technical expertise to assist with the most complex areas that we face and lead the delivery of our legal function. Our Monitoring Officer ensures the highest level of conduct for our Councillors and employees, so possessing the ability to challenge constructively and with gravitas is of paramount importance. Experience of working with elected Members is essential and experience of governance around Commercial approaches within the public sector would be an advantage. Ensuring that we deliver services and our wider ambitions in line with our constitution and within the law, the successful candidate will be supported by Legal Specialists and a Case Team.
