Christmas is coming as Ye Olde Yeovil Christmas Market comes to town

Ye Olde Christmas Market is coming to Yeovil town this coming Saturday, 15 December, with plenty of stalls to pick up those last minute gifts, or in some cases Christmas shopping can begin.

The market takes place in Middle Street, with over 20 stalls offering a wide range of local produce.

Grab yourself a warm mulled wine or a bottle of award winning local gin. Browse and buy handmade craft carvings, clothing and accessories or hand crafted glass figures. For those looking for food treats, German bratwurst might take your fancy or maybe some local cheese, cider and chutney - or get yourself something a little sweeter with luxury cakes, fudge or old English boiled sweets all on offer.

There will be live music all day featuring some of Yeovil's favourite buskers at both the Bandstand and in upper Middle Street.

There is plenty for children to enjoy, by meeting Father Christmas in the Quedam and saying hello to some of his hard working reindeer near the Bandstand. Take a bit of time out from shopping by treating them to a ride or two at the fairground that will also be in town.

Stalls at Ye Olde Yeovil Christmas Market include Newton House Gin, The Old Sweet, Bratwurst UK, La Mollina, Robert Lush Trading, Daphne Atkinson Jewellery and Ridiculously Rich.

Councillor Peter Gubbins, South Somerset District Council's Area South Committee Chairman and portfolio holder for Yeovil Refresh, said: "Our Christmas Market will feature some really good quality local produce and I would encourage everyone to make a visit to the town centre on Saturday and support your local town by buying from local traders.

"This is just another example of great things to do in Yeovil in the build up to Christmas."

Ye Olde Yeovil Christmas Market is open 9am to 4pm. You can also enjoy Yeovil's fantastic range of shops, from High Street retailers to small independent shops. Yeovil boasts 16 of the UK's Top 30 favourite retailers (according to the 2017 Retailer Proposition Index) and 55 of the UK Top 100 retail stores (Based on the OC&C consultant retail proposition index) are based in the Yeovil area.
