Free Tourism Literature Exchange 2018

50 tourism businesses have booked to exhibit their promotional materials and offers at this year's annual Literature Exchange organised by South Somerset District Council (SSDC).

The event, to be hosted by Westlands Entertainment Venue on Tuesday 20 March, provides tourism businesses with the ideal opportunity to update their knowledge on the latest facilities and offers for visitors to enjoy in the area and to collect their supplies of leaflets for the upcoming season.

If you run a pub, café or visitor attraction, or provide accommodation or tourist information services, the Literature Exchange will enable you to:

  • Pick up leaflets to display at your premises
  • Network with colleagues working in the tourism industry
  • Meet the team from SSDC, including the Business Support Officer

Councillor Derek Yeomans, SSDC Portfolio Holder for Tourism, said: "The Literature Exchange encapsulates all that is great about the Somerset tourism trade and how businesses work together to make sure customers get the best they can from their time in the county.  Products being shown off at the Exchange include cycle routes around Langport, specific events for 2018 and attractions across Somerset."

The event on 20 March runs from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm and is free to attend.  To confirm attendance, please email tourism@southsomerset.gov.uk or ring 01935 462390.

In conjunction with this event, there will also be the opportunity for tourism businesses to attend a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) session held by SSDC's Data Protection Officer. The session will give an overview of the new rules that are coming in from May this year.  The session begins at 11am in the Wheeldon Suite and booking in advance is required as spaces are limited. You can book your place by emailing or calling on the details above.
