Last chance to shape political map of South Somerset

Local people have just a few days left to help re-draw council ward boundaries across South Somerset.

A public consultation on proposals that would mean changes to all but four of South Somerset District Council's current ward boundaries will close on 19 March 2018.

The recommendations have been drawn up by the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England.

Professor Colin Mellors, Chair of the Commission, said: "This is the last chance for local people to have their say on ward boundaries for all district councillors in South Somerset.

"We want to hear evidence from the people who know South Somerset best about the shape of local communities across the district before we finalise our recommendations in May."

Local people can have their say directly by visiting:

The full recommendations and detailed maps are also available on the Commission's main website at:

The Commission wants to hear as much evidence as possible in order to develop final recommendations for South Somerset. If you would like to make a submission to the Commission, please write or email by 19 March 2018.
