National Licensing Week to highlight the variety of work by Council Licensing Team

National Licensing Week takes place between Monday 18 June and Friday 22 June this year and showcases the great work done by Council's Licensing teams across the Country.

Now in its third year the Institute of Licensing's National Licensing Week highlights the significant role licensing plays in protecting consumers in everyday life - whether that be catching a taxi, buying a beer, purchasing a dog or placing a bet.

Each day of the week will have a different theme and South Somerset District Council's Licensing Team will be releasing information about the work they do. The themes include positive partnerships, tourism and leisure, home and family, night time and finally business and licensing.

Councillor Angie Singleton, Portfolio Holder for Licensing at South Somerset District Council said, "We are looking to successfully highlight the work that our Licensing Team do and the daily impact it has on you as residents during National Licensing Week. The better the awareness of the team, the better impact we can have as a District Council in enforcing Licensing Regulations and Legislation".

South Somerset District Council will also be using social media during Licensing Week to highlight some of the daily tasks undertaken by the Licensing staff. You can follow SSDC on Twitter using @SouthsomersetDC or search 'South Somerset District Council' on Facebook and Like the page.
