East Somerset in Business

South Somerset District Council (SSDC) is working in partnership with Blackmore Vale Business Breakfast, Bruton and Wincanton Chambers of Commerce to hold a business event at Haynes Motor Museum on Thursday 2 November, 4 - 7pm.

East Somerset in Businesswill combine workshops, presentations and advice, it is open to businesses across South Somerset and the neighbouring counties.  Whatever the size or type of business you run, long-established or start-up, there will be something to interest you.

Haynes Motor Museum, with its proximity to the A303, offers an easily accessible venue for South West Wiltshire and North Dorset as well as Somerset-based businesses.  The significance of the A303 corridor for local commerce has made Highways England an early choice of speaker at the event.  Connecting businesses along the A303 is a theme for the event.

The programme will include networking time with a range of other support organisations and funding bodies including the Local Enterprise Partnership, Somerset Business Agency, Heart of Wessex Local Action Group and Cosmic.

Between sessions, car enthusiasts will be able to enjoy Haynes Museum's famous Red Room collection.

Registration for the event is by email to terena.isaacs@southsomerset.gov.uk or telephone 01935 462268.

Nick Weeks, Chairman of SSDC's Area East Committee, says:  "The District Council is grateful to the local business organisations which have helped design an event that is pertinent to businesses and also to all the organisations which will be on hand to provide advice and guidance.  A buoyant local economy is something Area East Committee is keen to encourage.  Events such as this ensure that our local businesses don't miss out because they will have access to the organisations which offer support and funding on their doorstep".
