Ham Hill bonfire is back by popular demand

Ham Hill's wonderful warm glowing community bonfire is back this year by popular demand.

The bonfire at South Somerset District Council's Ham Hill Country Park was always very well attended and a large crowd of local residents and visitors were treated to a truly spectacular bonfire.

Meet the Rangers at the Rangers Office (TA14 6RW) on Friday 3rd November at 5.30pm and follow the candlelit procession (tea lights in jars are provided) down to the stone circle. You may also want to bring a torch for the walk back.

Get creative and make your own Guy to bring along and burn whilst drinking locally made warming spiced apple juice from Tinkers Bubble at Little Norton.

Bring your dog(s) along with your family and friends but please leave any fireworks and Chinese lanterns at home (although sparklers are very welcome) as we aim for a family friendly event and want to protect children and dogs.

The route to the bonfire has pushchair and wheelchair friendly access so everyone can enjoy the bonfire.

Join the Rangers to toast marshmallows over the fire and help keep events like this running by donating in our buckets on the evening as we rely on your donations to keep this event running. The Friends of Ham Hill and the Rangers are very grateful.

Paul McNeill, Countryside Ranger at Ham Hill County Park said, "We hope everyone has a warm and wonderful evening by the fire and see the spectacular stone circle lit up by the glow of the fire. The bonfire night is a fantastic evening for friends, families and pets - it brings the community together."

Councillor Sylvia Seal, Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Culture added, "The Countryside Team are pleased to bring the bonfire back to the events calendar this year. It meant a lot to local people and helps to bring everyone together. The event also helps to raise funds for the Friends of Ham Hill in order to help with the maintenance of the site throughout the year."

There is no need to book for this event, just turn up and enjoy. For further information on Countryside events, please visit www.southsomersetcountryside.com.
