Street Trading

Street Trading means the selling or exposing or offering for sale of any article (including a living thing) in a street.

Street Trading is permitted within the South Somerset area by means of consent except for Station Road Somerton where it is prohibited

If you are thinking of selling goods within the South Somerset area (not including shops) please look at our Street Trading Policy before you commence trading. You may need to obtain a consent to trade even if you are trading on private land.

"Street" includes (a) any road, footway, beach or other area to which the public have access without payment; and (b) a service area as defined in section 329 of the Highways Act 1980, and also includes any part of a street. Street Trading statutory exemptions (See policy)
