Who can I speak to?

If you have any queries or concerns, you can contact us using our quick and easy online form

The contact details for a number of helpful organisations are also listed below.

  1. HMRC COVID-19 helpline

All businesses and self-employed people in financial distress, and with outstanding tax liabilities, may be eligible to receive support with their tax affairs through HMRC’s Time To Pay service. These arrangements are agreed on a case-by-case basis and are tailored to individual circumstances and liabilities.

These businesses can contact HMRC’s new dedicated COVID-19 helpline for advice and support. To ensure ongoing support, HMRC have made a further 2,000 experienced call handlers available to support firms and individuals when needed.

If you are concerned about not being able to pay your tax due to COVID-19, call HMRC’s dedicated helpline.

  2. Citizens Advice services in South Somerset

Citizens Advice South Somerset (CASS) are very aware that over 50% of clients have health conditions and/or disabilities. Between the 5 organisations (Citizens Advice Mendip, Sedgemoor, West Somerset, Taunton and South Somerset), they have helped over 20,000 clients last year.

For this reason CASS have decided they must exercise extreme care in minimising the risk of infection for clients and for staff and volunteers and the difficult decision to close face to face services (including outreach) whilst also increasing capacity on the phones and email services. Please be assured that this decision has not been taken lightly.

The advice by phone service in Somerset is very well established and part of the Citizens Advice general offer. All systems are in place for a team of home based and office based advisers.

Clients can visit the respective websites for full details of their options or clients can call Adviceline: 03444 889 623.

Each local Citizens Advice centre will appoint a daily lead responsible for dealing with clients in crisis and will continue to make the Local Assistance Scheme available to those in crisis (Fuel, food, essential items). They will maintain close contact with local foodbanks and work with them to address any challenges as they arise.
