Wincanton businesses set for Digital High Street grants
South Somerset District Council is offering a Digital High Street grant of up to £500 to be used for digital improvements including commissioning photography, film, branding, artwork design and website set-up or upgrade.
The grant is available for small business and not for profit organisations based in Wincanton. The same grant is also available to qualifying businesses in Bruton, Castle Cary, Chard, Crewkerne, Ilminster, Langport, Martock, Milborne Port, Somerton and South Petherton.
Applicants need to contribute 50% of the required funds and the grants will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis to businesses that meet the criteria.
The grants scheme was conceived by SSDC's Market Towns Investment Group (MTIG) following an audit to assess the digital presence of the town centres. MTIG draws passionate advocates for the market towns from across the district - town and district councillors, regeneration groups and business representatives - to work together to improve the public realm and raise the profile of South Somerset.
Councillor Angie Singleton, Portfolio Holder for SSDC's Market Town Vision, says: "We want the scheme to reach out to people running small businesses and attractions in our market towns. This is a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of your business in the exciting digital world."
