Make sure you’re registered to vote in time for the General Election this December

| District

With the deadline to register to vote in the UK Parliamentary election approaching fast, South Somerset District Council is urging residents to make sure they are registered in time.

On Thursday 12 December, voters in South Somerset will go to the polls to vote for their MP to represent the Yeovil and the Somerton & Frome constituencies in the UK Parliamentary election. The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Tuesday 26 November.

Anyone not already registered to vote at their current address can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Registering to vote takes less than five minutes; all you need is your National Insurance number to hand.

Alex Parmley, Acting Returning Officer for South Somerset District Council said, “With only a few days to go, time is running out to make sure you can take part in the election on Thursday 12 December. This election is an opportunity to have a say on who represents you as your Member of Parliament. But if you're not registered by 26 November, you won't be able to vote.”
