The Notice of Election for the forthcoming elections for District, Town and Parish Councils has been published by South Somerset District Council.

Elections will be held for the 60 District Council seats and 831 seats across the Town and Parish Councils of South Somerset will be held on Thursday, 2nd May.

Standing as a candidate

If you are considering standing as a District Councillor and serving your community, there’s still time for you to complete your nomination papers.

You must return your completed nomination papers by 4pm on Wednesday 3rd April. The paperwork should be hand delivered to Returning Officer, South Somerset District Council, The Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2HT.

Councillors come from all walks of life: Different backgrounds, knowledge and experiences help to represent different views, and take a different approach.

You can represent the local community and work as part of a team of 60 elected Councillors to make good decisions to provide services that respond to the needs of the community now and in the future.
