Somerton Town Council election to be held this February

Due to a vacancy arising at Somerton Town Council, an election has been called to elect a new representative.

The following two persons have been nominated, with the election taking place on Thursday 6 February 2020 between 7am and 10pm:

  • Vince Holland
  • Peter Kevin Richardson

To cast your vote, you will need to live in the parish of Somerton. The polling station will be located at the Wessex Rooms, Broad Street, Somerton, TA11 7ND. Poll cards will not be sent out for this election.

Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT by 5 p.m. on Wednesday 22 January. Postal ballot papers will be issued on Friday 24 January.

Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT by 5 p.m. on Wednesday 29 January.

Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT by 5 p.m. on Thursday 6 February. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 29th January. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 29th January.
