Boost your Business with a Business Growth Grant
Businesses in South Somerset seeking to grow, innovate and become more productive will soon be able to apply for a Business Growth Grant.
The Business Growth Grant is being made available by South Somerset District Council, as part of the support that has been provided to the Council in the form of the Covid-19 Additional Restrictions Grant.
The grant scheme is designed to support businesses within South Somerset who are seeking to grow and innovate. The scheme will assist with the costs required to do so and recognises that Covid-19 has prevented business growth that would have otherwise taken place.
Grants of up to £15,000 are available.
Who is eligible?
The fund is available for businesses that support five or more employees, have a business rated premise within South Somerset and have been trading for at least two years.
The scheme is intended to support innovation and growth within South Somerset and businesses will need to demonstrate that they will meet at least two of the following outcomes:
- The funded business will be more resilient
- The local economy will be boosted
- Local people will have developed skills and opportunities for employment
- The local area will be a better place to live, work and visit
- Long term business sustainability
- The funded business will become more environmentally friendly
- The funded business will be able to diversify into new markets leading to increased profitability having assessed the impact of doing so
- The funded business will become more productive
How to apply
Businesses are encouraged to visit www.southsomerset.gov.uk/businessgrowthgrant in advance of the grant scheme opening. On this page, businesses will be able to download an application form that will need to be uploaded as part of the online application process.
Online applications are invited from Tuesday 14 December 2021 at 10.00am, however, we encourage businesses to start completing the application form in advance.
The application window will initially remain open for at least 48 hours. All applications received within this window will be assessed, however, we cannot guarantee that they will all receive funding. Should funding still be available, the scheme will remain open until 31st January 2022 or until the fund is fully allocated. Applications will be assessed on a first come first served basis, so businesses are encouraged to apply early to ensure we are able to consider their application.
