Government withdraws critical key worker parking pass guidance in line with lifting of lockdown restrictions

| District

In line with guidance from the Government and the British Parking Association, the exemption which allowed critical key workers to use our car parks for free during the Covid-19 pandemic has ended.

While the Government advised that the scheme should have ended on 21 June, South Somerset District Council determined that it would end the scheme in line with the easing of lockdown restrictions on 19 July 2021.

Vehicles, unless the owner is subject to any other discretionary passes, parked from the 19 July 2021 onwards in our car parks will require payment to do so either at the available pay and display machines or using the Phone & Pay service.

Thank you. You response is appreciated.
