Waste and Recycling Service Disruption Update
Somerset Waste Partnership Service Disruption Update
Some residents are experiencing waste collection service disruption and we are sorry for the inconvenience. The issues are largely down to a national shortage of LGV drivers and we are working hard with our collections contractor to get services back on track.
Unfortunately, further delayed collections are likely in the coming days. Please bear with us.
If you need to report a missed collection you can do this here
If you report that your rubbish or garden waste has not been collected, we will be back within the next two working days. If you report that your recycling has not been collected, Somerset Waste Partnership will do their best to return within the next two working days. If they do not manage to reach you within two working days, please take your recycling in and put it out again on your next collection day.
To help with the backlog, Recycling, rubbish and garden waste should be put out the night before collection days, or by 6am at the latest on the day itself. This will allow crews to start collections early if needed – for example during a period of hot weather – and give SWP and SUEZ more flexibility when planning how to keep on top of collections and deal with special circumstances.
The situation is constantly changing, so please check the Somerset Waste Partnership website for the latest service updates here
