South Somerset District Council Statement of Community Involvement - Draft for Consultation

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) requires Councils to produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). The SCI sets out how and when the community and other stakeholders will be consulted on the preparation of the Council's statutory planning documents such as the Local Plan.  It also explains how the community and other stakeholders will be consulted on planning applications.

South Somerset District Council's current SCI was adopted in 2007 and requires updating due to changes in planning legislation and regulations. We have therefore produced a new draft SCI and are now providing an opportunity to comment on that document

The consultation runs for six weeks and begins at 8.00am on Thursday 20th August 2015 and closes at midday on Friday 2nd October 2015. The document will be available to view online here:

  • Brympton Way, Yeovil BA20 2HT (between 8.45am and 5.15pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.45am and 4.45pm on Friday);

  • Holyrood Lace Mill, Chard, TA20 2YA (between 9am and 1pm, and 1.30pm and 3.30pm Monday to Friday); and
