PlayBox

We are pleased to announce that, this year, we will be providing free play activities to children in South Somerset with PlayBox.

Unfortunately, this year we have had to cancel our Playdays, YouthDays and School’s Out summer activities due to Covid-19. However, all is not lost, we are still providing South Somerset families with play alternatives this summer with PlayBox.

PlayBox is a free activity box including arts and crafts, baking, outdoor play and environmental activities.

Play boxes will be given out at our collection points across South Somerset on the following dates, between 11am and 2pm:

  • 4th August – Kingsbury Episcopi Recreation Ground
  • 5th August – Cale Park, Wincanton
  • 6th August – Jocelyn Park, Chard
  • 7th August – Yeovil Recreation Ground, Mudford Road, Yeovil

If you are unable to attend one of our collection days we have a downloadable version of our activity booklet here. Simply download and get stuck in with a variety of fun summer activities.

  1. How do I collect my PlayBox?

To collect a box, come to one of our collection days. We have limited boxes which will be given out on a first come first serve basis.

    • Children must be accompanied by an adult
    • one box per child aged between 5 and 11 years old
    • you will be able to choose your activity box based on the booklet of activities

Please be respectful and adhere to social distancing guidelines whilst collecting your box. We will have a one-way system in place and will have hand sanitiser available at the collection point. However, we advise you to bring your own also.

Thank you. You response is appreciated.
