Apply for provisional statement

If you are about to, or in the process of, constructing or altering a premises for the use of licensable activities, you can apply for a provisional statement.

A provisional statement will tell you if, once the building works are complete, whether or not your premises would be granted a premises licence. Therefore, allowing you to determine if your proposed business is viable before you invest.

You can apply for a statement if you:

  • have proprietary interest in the premises
  • are aged 18 or over

Businesses, including architect firms, financiers and construction companies, can also apply for a statement.

There is an application fee of £315.

Tacit consent applies for this application. If you have not heard from us by the end of the target completion date (30 days after the receipt of your application) then you can act as if your application has been granted.
