Parking

Our car parks

There are numerous car parks owned by us across the district.

The locations of car parks can be found using the links below. Note that, as the above maps aren't updated by us, charges shown may not be up to date.

Find car parks in:

Alternatively, you can view our schedule of car parks to find opening hours, capacity and parking charges.

Make sure that you have bought a ticket and that is is clearly displayed when using any of our car parks.

If there is a problem with a pay and display machine, report it to us

Don't forget, if you do not have change, you can always purchase parking via the Phone and Pay service

At this present time, none of our car parks provide dedicated motor home parking. If you do need to park your motor home, we recommend purchasing multiple tickets to cover the number of bays you have parked in.

  1. Car park charges

You can view our schedule of charges and also our consolidation order document, which sets out the terms and conditions for the use of public car parks.

For blue badge holders, there is a provision for an additional 60 minutes free parking on the time that you have purchased.

    Phone and Pay

Motorists visiting South Somerset can use our cashless phone and pay service to pay for parking charges in our car parks. Provided by BemroseBooth Mobile, you can register your vehicle details either online or by calling 01935 314844. You will need the car park reference in found in the table below to register.

Alternatively, download the Phone and Pay app, free of charge, on the Android Play Store or Apple App Store.

Your previous parking history can also be viewed online and through the app and VAT receipts can be emailed once a parking session has been paid for.

Where permitted, you can top up a parking session from distance to vehicle, opt for SMS reminders when a session is close to expiring and use the 'Find my Vehicle' function to locate your vehicle on busy days.

  2. Season tickets

We use a fully electronic ticket system called MiPermit which means that you will not need to display a paper season ticket in your vehicle.

Details of your season ticket are synchronised with our Civil Enforcement Officers hand-held devices so they can see in real-time that you have a valid ticket to park your vehicle.

To purchase or renew your season ticket you do not need to register with MiPermit. You can simply use the system to make your purchase. This will cover the use of one vehicle in the selected car park.

Registering a full account with MiPermit provides additional control over your ticket, such as the ability to edit daily which vehicle the season ticket applies. These alterations are free of charge.

If you are not able to apply or renew your season ticket online, you can also make payments by calling 0345 520 7007.

  3. Residents' parking and on-street parking

The residents' parking scheme and permits are now being operated by Somerset County Council

Any queries about new residents parking zones or amending the existing zones should be addressed to SCC Highways office at Countyroads-southsom@somerset.gov.uk or call 0300 123 2224.

For any queries, refunds or applications for permits, visit Somerset County Council or call 0345 520 7007.

If you have been issued with a Penalty Charge Notice, you can pay it online. Alternative methods are set out in our How to Pay a PCN document.

If you wish to challenge a Penalty Charge Notice, you need to make your case immediately, in writing and in accordance with the guidance.

If we reject your representation against a PCN, you may lodge an appeal online to an independent Parking Adjudicator at the Parking and Traffic Appeals Service.
