Refuse and recycling requirements for new developments

Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) manages household waste services on behalf of South Somerset, Mendip and Sedgemoor District Councils, Somerset County Council, Taunton Deane Borough Council and West Somerset Council.

Waste and recycling collections are essential services for households and must be considered when designing a new development or even converting an existing property. Failure to do so can lead to poor services for future residents and could result in objections to planning applications.

Space should be allocated for refuse and recycling storage and collection points need to be accessible by collection vehicles. Visit SWPs Developer Guidance for advice.

Thank you. You response is appreciated.
